LI Cod - fun day, not much to report on catching

Sailed on an NS sponsor out of Freeport yesterday for cod. We did 60 miles out and back and had very few cod to show for our efforts. Not for lack of trying on the part of the captain. We had plenty of dogs and congers. One spot did have some short cod life; but, that dies with the change of tide.

Great day on the water for late winter. It was too bad the cod did not cooperate.

It was good to fish with you again yesterday. Yes, it was a tough one for sure out off the east end. Way too many dogs on the inshore pcs now.

I am traveling down your way tomorrow to fish with Doug on the OE if you want to join in for another shot.
