Decided to fish of the beach yesterday after work, got some sand fleas and live shrimp from local bait shop. It turned out to be a good afternoon , had none stop pompano action for a solid 3 hours, biggest one was 17 inches ..all fish released, only because I can't microwave them at my hotel lol.. Going back to te surf again today !

Another pic
Looks like the same fish to me. I think every time you let him go he comes back for a free meal being he knows you are going to release him anyway lol

Looks like fun!
Actually you can microwave fish and have it come out really well. Back in my bodybuilding days I swore by the ziplock zip and steam bags...put fresh or frozen fish in the bag with half a lemon, microwave for 4-6min and wallah you have a very healthy and tasty meal. If you wanted to get real fancy you can get a Sous Vide, all you need is a bowl, water, and a air tight bag...look it up, hands down the best steak ive ever had was made in a sous vide!

We were north of you in the Jacksonville area a few days ago but the few windows of time we had to fish, we were blown out. There was heavy surf for that area with a NE wind. We heard that there was a good Pompano bite in the Melbourne area and your report proves it. Those Pompano are very prized table fare. By the way, that rig that is just about visible in the second picture is deadly. Shrimp, clam or fish bites are excellent baits. I've used those rigs for seabass and porgies up here off N.J. and off Block Island and they worked great. Bring a few home with you. There is supposed to be a very good wahoo bite going on just north of where you are. I met Dave Workman Jr. in his shop in Jacksonville where he was rigging some pretty hefty, heavy jet heads for his customers.
