I am going to be down around the end of april beginning of may.. I am not bringing anything with me so might hit a shop down there or just boat crap.
Anyone has any good experience with a good boat down there? would like to do anything where I can catch fish, do not want to fish off the dock or rock, i would like a smaller open boat style but if i have to get on a head boat so be it.
Thanks!

You are just a tad early for Tarpon... Around a week before Labor Day it's lights out fishing there.
Don't know of any boats specifically but on your way over the bridge in Fort Myers you will see Dock Fords Bar and Grille.... Right behind it there is a marina with several charter fishing boats so you might check with them.

Fishin Fever with Capt Donnie. Capt is a tad crazy, but man this guy can catch fish. Big, fast comfortable boat, he limits it to 6 guys. If you want to bottom fish, this is your man. Excellent mate as well, and the gear they have is all quality. He tries really hard to put a catch together and from the times I've fished with him, he makes it easy to fill a cooler with all kinds of grouper and snapper.

I'd go with tenacity. The mate is smokin. I had to check it out after the prior post:D

Head boat is great family fun. U can also set up a charter if that's what you want. Send me as pm if the date works no charge we can run out to Boca Pass. As Gerry said a little early.
I work for Florida F&W Tue. Wed. and Thru. So can only get week ends.

I fished of shore 17 miles on Cuda out of Naples florida.
Good time, nice boat, nice captain.
Caught a bunch of short grouper and a bunch of red snapper which made it to the fryer after the trip
