I'm not sure if this belongs on this board, but my Mini-Mushin Boston Whaler 13 was stolen with its trailer from my office parking lot in Hamilton (Mercer Co), NJ some time between 2/16 night and 2/17 morning. It is a 1972 Whaler 13 with Honda 30 HP motor, console steering, tricked out. Boat Reg NJ 4347 CP. Trailer Plate NJ TKC82Y. "Mini-Mushin" on side. My daughter and I spent 6 months restoring this boat to its pristine condition. This is the boat that Jason The Sensation from Fisherman Supply fishes the River with daily. If you have info that helps me get her back, please call Capt. Alan 609-731-3742 or Hamilton Township PD 609-581-4000. I will reward you with a spot on an overnight canyon trip on me.

Much appreciated, guys, really! Like I said, it really, really sucks because my daughter and I meticulously re-built this boat over six months, and so many great times and memories on this boat for so many of us! It's not even the money, it's the principle.

OMG!:eek:How the hell does anyone think they could get away with that, especially with the name right on the side.

It's beyond unbelievable the &%^$# some people have. Can't imagine with the network between social media, this site and the great members here the boat won't eventually be recovered hopefully sooner than later. BUT how in God's name someone can be that desperate and inconsiderate of other people's property and be that brazen to steal a registered boat on a trailer with the boat's name on the side is beyond comprehension. What goes around comes around and a person that demented to do something like this will eventually get what's coming to him. I hope for you and especially your daughter the boat is recovered soon. Would appreciate if you kept us informed along the way. And when they find out who took it, forgive and forget would be the last thing I'd be thinking! Sorry for your misfortune but I'll be praying for a good ending!

Traffic cameras at nearest large intersections can be checked by the police, you will at least get the make and model of the truck that drove off with it !

Even if they take the name off , it should still be able to see on the gelcoat,
They always show due to the lack of weathering under the letters

This kind of shit is everywhere today, but no where is it as bad as in NJ.. It was bad when I was there .. Had a ton of stuff stolen in my 37 years in NJ. I imagine its a lot worse now.. I hope your boat is found soon, and the miserable bastards that took it get friggin' nailed to the wall...

Just an idea. Maybe the boat went into Pennsy. Maybe someone can have the police check the cameras at the crossing near Hamilton. I think it's the Route 1. It's a toll road, it should have cameras. Hope you get it back.

My nephew had is car stolen from a repair shop there a couple of weeks ago. The police found it in Trenton with damage from an accident. Wishing you the best in finding your boat.

Suggestion.

I would pay a very covert trip to the location of the guy who plows that lot or nearby lot. You have to find that out discretely.

I hope you can thank me later. :)

I know this is late in the game for the owners of Mini Mushin but something to consider when this boat is recovered and prior to that for anyone else interested. Unfortunately what happened here is not an isolated instance. People are just brazen these days and the same can happen to any of us at any time, especially in the NY / NJ area. For anyone considering keeping their boat on a trailer, it might not be a bad idea to get a GPS tracker to keep on board in a discreet area. The devices they sell today have a wide range of price and range but they have relatively inexpensive units with very decent ranges that in a situation like this could come in quite handy. The units are small enough where you can locate them on the boat or in the trailer in an area out of view where they wouldn't be detected. You'd have the boat back the next day and the guys who stole it would be in jail where they belong. Just something to consider for boats on trailers or cars for that matter. I know a few people who have them and recovered their stolen cars within a few hours. Unfortunately it's the world we live in today but a cheap insurance policy.

This sucks. I am a Whaler owner and know how attached we become to these classics.

I posted on a Whaler Facebook group in case it shows up for sale or as parts.

To Gerry and All Bass Barners,
To reiterate what Gerry said - you are a great bunch to go out of your way to help us try to find the Mini-Mushin. With so many eyes and ears out, we are hopeful to find her!

I sincerely appreciate it,

Man sorry to hear about your loss. Hopefully traffic cams would show something. Now when I stop at Pete's on 36 to get bait do not leave my poles in the boat. Heard of people having stuff stole right out of their boat at q-check's wawa's etc.
No respect for pesonal property for sure.

Just a quick update that we are still looking for the Mini-Mushin! We are not giving up! All the talk about winter flounder fishing is definitely exciting but also a bit of a painful reminder for me that the Mini-Mushin is not pounding them. Please keep the search going! Any leads are appreciated. Thanks again!

Just to make sure everyone knows that the Mini-Mushin boat/motor/trailer has been FOUND!!! I started another thread the other day to announce that and to let you all know how much my daughter and I appreciated all the support, thoughts, and help in finding her. There is still an active investigation and prosecution to happen, as police have identified their guy, so I can not post any more details. But when it's all squared away, I will fill you guys in with the details!

THANKS AGAIN!
Alan
