Sad day for all that know "the sinker man"

I'm sorry to inform everyone of Sam chamberlain aka the sinker mans passing today. After a few years of struggling with health issues he is in a more comfortable place. Prayers to his wife and family and I will post the services as soon as I hear them. RIP Sammyboy!

Truer words are rarely spoken. They don't make them like Sam anymore. He gave me my very first Jig making supplies nearly a decade ago. Literally just handed me a box of stuff and said, "here". I haven't made any in a while and bought different things, but I still have that box sitting under my work table at home three moves later. Going to miss Sam a lot.

I just left Sam's house. Stopped and offered my condolences and the condolences of our fishing community. Patty his wife, was happy to hear from us. She stated that Sam passed peacefully at his home, which is what he wanted. The services will be private. His ashes will be brought to Stokes State Forest, where he enjoyed hunting in years past.
His wish was for any donations to be made to your local A.S.P.C.A. in his name, for his love of animals.
I will surely miss him, and I know he left a mark on countless members of the NJFishing.com community.
RIP Sam. You will forever be remembered.

Sam was certainly one of a "kind". He supported every one of my trips over 8 years with donations, fishing with us and conversations from inception through the day of. I would like to believe we became friends through the process. I know I am better off from knowing him. I will surely miss him and now our lost friends will have lead whenever they need it.

To those of us left behind take solace of having known him and be proud of these kind words our fishing community have posted here as I am sure they are of great comfort to his family.

Once again this NJFishing.com community shows its stripes. We all should remember to treat EACH other in life as we want our families treated at our passing. Sam did it the right way!

While I never met Sam in person or even bought one sinker from him we pm'ed a bit about freshwater fishing in Bergen County in the 60's and 70's.
Since I grew up in Paramus we had a lot in common when it came to Trout fishing there. A genuine person if there ever was one.

Since I live relatively close to him, would drop by to pick up my orders and he would love to talk sitting on his steps with a cigarette in his mouth, with his dogs peeking out to see what we are up to.
It was always nice talking to him about fishing or other stuff. It was sad to watch his health slowly deteriorate over the years, but I guess the time has come. Like everyone else, I will truly miss him. He was a good man.

I remember my first order from him. I asked him where he would like the payment sent to. He responded, "Oh, just send the payment to the address on the package once you get the shipment". Great guy and sad to see him go.
