Well on our 1000th post wouldn't it be fitting for something special. Today Capt. Tom ran a trip for Mark, Savannah and a beautiful little girl named Bethany. All first time Toggers who paid attention especially Bethany, who by the way is smart way beyond her years. The party of 3 caught + what they came for and released others to grow up. Sure we lost rigs but that's Toggin. Now for Bethany, who limited on the targeted species, but also lands a 19" Fluke that inhaled a small Bergall that Bethany had started to reel up :) The smiles all around were pricless and the reason we do what we do. Thank you for sailing with us, another great day. Bethany, we look forward to seeing the fossils you find from all over the world in the Met museum :):):) This is some way to start the new year!

Great report! It's amazing the amount of fluke caught well into the fall / winter. Remember fishing in December years ago off the Seaside Pier casting 7 ounce buck tails for bass and my brother hooking a fluke which was every bit 8 lbs. Got it to the boat, the mate in his excitement went to swing it on board and it came unbuttoned. We were casting and retrieving at the time so that fish had to come pretty far off bottom when she hit. They have a greater tolerance for water temperature than most us us realize.

Good job by Bethany, sounds like the first of many trips she'll be on!
