Guys, a week ago or so I ran across a post here from a boat stating they will be fishing for cod January 1st. I Wanted to see if I Can still sign up but now for the life of me can't find the post. Does anyone recall who it was?

Charter boats out of Newport, R.I. are slaughtering the cod on Stellwagon Bank. Best in years I heard. A friend of mine went and the whole charter did real well.

Cuz, I doubt any charter boat from Newport is fishing Stellwagon.

Stellwagon is North of the line where no cod are allowed to be kept and it's a major ride from Newport.

He actually meant Coxes Ledge region . I've been going & it is a decent bite for sure .

I'm going Tuesday From Montauk I know the bite out that way has been good to excellent from I understand. Lou is correct the Newport boats are fishing either Cox's or some pet wrecks off RI. Stellwagon is closed right now For Cod as well as Jeffries.
