Bass and Bluefish blitz

Was told of a big blitz in the Seaside, Island Beach area yesterday, but not a word on this board. Anyone else hear about it?:confused:

I was at a couple of bait shops today doing some shopping and guys where rushing in to weigh bass and to buy bunker snaggers. Talked to one of the fisherman and he told me the bite was on at seaside, and he saw bass and blues on bunker as far north as he could see. Talked A couple guys at a different shop and they told me they were fishing "around" Manasquan and had shorts and keepers To 32 inches casting plugs and shads. Guess they aren't all gone just yet

Monday was a great day for me. Had a dozen fish from the ocean County surf all on top water swim plugs. Probably lost as many.
Good sized shorts up to keepers to 20 lbs.

One of my friends was down there and said it was crazy all day and bit anything you threw out, bucktails, swimmers, shads, poppers and even metals and keep catching until your arms were tired. And to think its the last week of December!!!! I checked out some of the beaches up here in Mon County this afternoon but no such luck

Bunker still near Miss Liberty. We have them by our docks. Stripers still around here but not in the numbers of a few weeks ago.
