There will be a public hearing in Manahawkin on Thursday, January 7, regarding proposed recreational management measures for summer flounder and black sea bass. The hearing is scheduled immediately after the regular Marine Fisheries Council meeting in Stafford Twp.
For more information including proposed ASMFC Draft Addendum XXVII, meeting time and location, as well as how to submit written comment, see http://www.njfishandwildlife.com/news/2015/marine_hearing1-16.htm on the NJDEP Division of Fish and Wildlife's website.

No one will go, then bitch when the fluke limits go to 2 and seabass to 5.
That's bs I went two years in a row to their meeting the first year when they reduced to 17.5 at 5 from 18 at 8 and all to appease southern guys many vocalize that it would just be 18 at 5 and sure enough following year so only thing was loss of 3 fish. These boards already have the options picked and basically set these meetings are just a formality. The fact we are regionalized with quota is bullshit. You could make great arguments for slot limit like 16 to 24@ 4 and one fish over 24 per day and they wouldn't listen. You could propose that new Jersey is fine at 18 at 5 and they will do what they want.

It's a shame our government is turning us into criminals. That goes for both parties.
One meeting. Always at an out of the way place always an inconvenient place for most and as stated, they don't listen to us or science and do what they want. It's F'en ridiculous!
Bobber, for what it's worth, thanks for the info.
Yes thanks bobber for info...having zero attendance will not help the cause. Who's going if we can get enough people that are willing to throw some tea in the harbor and not sit by quietly I'll go one more time but only if I know we will have a good showing of vocal people
