I've noticed while fishing 30-50 feet of water, longer leaders 30lb test works best.

Great Advice. If someone is bailing the crap out of fish be willing to adjust. It`s a game of adjustments. It`s real easy when they are biting aggressively, but when the bite is scratchy and the conditions are tough you have to change things up. There is even a different bite between green crabs and white leggers at times or green crabs that have green underbellies vs ones that have red under bellies. Green underbellies are softer vs red ones , which are harder.

Either works and the location varies based on water temps. When temps are on the higher side they will stay in the shallower areas and once it gets colder you need to go deeper.
