At 1 pm we had 3 BLUEFISH in the boat but we ended up with a good catch of BASS by the end of the day. The morning was really nasty but once the wind backed off we had a GOOD CATCH of STRIPERS up to 30 lbs. We picked at the BLUEFISH to mix in with the BASS. We had to work overtime but it ended up being a GOOD day.
We will be back at it again tomorrow - see you in the morning.
The GOLDEN EAGLE sails every day for STRIPERS & BLUES at 7:30 am from Belmar Marina in Belmar, NJ.

See you on board

Great day on the Golden Eagle! Captain & mates worked their butts off getting us the fish which showed up late in the day. Nice that everybody went home with fish to eat. Big kudos for putting in the extra 2 1/2 hrs of OT to be there for the bite.

At 3:30PM, I was fishing from the beach at the Northernmost end of IBSP. Two partyboats passed by, heading North. I believe the lead boat was the Miss Belmar Princess and the other was the Golden Eagle. Of course, the boats were much too far from shore to read the name. However, back in the early 1960's, more than 50 years ago, I was taught by the late Captain Joe Vassallo, from Belmar, to recognize partyboats by their silouhettes (sp?) and trim color. Tombanjo can you verify that was you? Did you find the bass of Barnegat Lighthouse, or even further South?

I can. There were actually 4 PB's that hung in there very late to get their fares fish. Moreover, they stayed with it until that bite was over. Really nice to see.
