11-7-2015 - Another Adventure

The weather seemed perfect for fishing today, overcast, not too hot not too cold. Unfortunately the bite was very sporadic. I managed to snag a few small bass and for the notable catches I have added pictures.

This guy was 2.3 pounds

To my suprise this location has cat fish. He bit a soft plastic swim bait and then let go, i guess when he let go he got caught on his side. thats why theres a little hole there. I feel like he has a good chance of recovery. I noticed his front fins looked like a stocked fish would but as far as i know, no one stocks this pond.

As i was walking i didnt notice this guy, he scared the shit out of me lol I call him grumpy turtle.

That's a bullhead. A decent sized one at that... good looking largie. Some folks on this board would've turned grumpy into soupy lol...

Jigman how sure are you, its a bullhead ? Its color was kinda brownish but i read online that bullhead catfish dont have a scissor tail. I am by no means an expert , it would be pretty cool if it is a bullhead, cause this would be the first time catching one.

Also maybe the picture is misleading but this guy was only 8 inches

Definitely a small bullhead. The split in the tail is just a common minor injury occurrence with many fish, not a normal configuration. Nice job on a mixed bag for a nice fall day!

That catfish almost looks like a channel, but the color is more like a bullhead. channel bullhead!
