You get the rest..... Do yourself a favor and go to work because the inshore seabass scene will certainly disapoint. Need some conditions that are little better than 10-15 from the SW with gusts to 20 to get to the promised land.

I was going in my center console, saw forecast and bagged trip. Wouldn't be too comfortable in spots I wanted to go. Was hoping wind wouldn't pick up until afternoon but wind guru had it picking up around 11.

Oh well, will salivate at any good reports and hope for some nice days next week.

Bass fishing was a bust for us this afternoon between Sea Girt and Asbury Park. Loads of bait and small wearied around but no bass or blues

My friend and I found plenty of bunker but no stripers. We stopped at one of my choice sea bass spots well within the 3 mile line. We dropped down and caught about a dozen to about 3 lbs in 15 minutes. Of course all went back but at least I know where they are at when we go out again this weekend.

Consider yourself lucky and go get em. Did some pre season recon north of shark river and there was not a whole lot going on. What fish were caught went back, but it was far from consistent fishing. Not saying you can`t put a catch together if you bust your ass, but it is far from good. Fished 50 ft to 110 ft.
Good Luck to all.

Not looking to dispute your buddy`s intel, but all I can tell you is after 10-12 drops on spots that guys that do this stuff for living have, the fishing was very tough.... The life that was inshore was spread out and was the furthest thing from good fishing. Obviously there are exceptions on any given day, but for the most part fish the deep when the weather permits.
