I have a torium 14 loaded with 30lb suffix 832 and a shimano tallus rod heavy action with fast tip. will this combo be good for blackfish ? plan on heading to Montauk soon. any suggestions would be welcomed. thanks

I have that reel... Love it. Loaded with 30 832, too. I've used for blackfish, but it's not my #1 reco...it'll still do the job. Could up the braid to 40. It'll help make your top shot knot a bit more even in regards to its profile.

The Torium 14 is also my back up reel for Tog. I agree about upping the line to 40, maybe even 50# braid. The outfit you have right now is what I started Togging with, you should have no problem. Good luck & catch 'em up!

i use the same white 50# braid...50# flouro or pink ande mono topshot... fluke to tuna... everything in between
