Had a solid hit, but not much fight. I released it to fight another day. Also caught 4 hickory shad, part of a bicycle inner tube and a tree branch. Saw 2 fishermen catch a snapper and skate in the ocean. A guy lost a bass in the pocket at 7 PM on a plug.

Nice, I have caught a big hermit crab, spider crabs and big mole crabs this year on similar lures on a medium speed retrieve :D Haven't got a clam that way yet. rare catch!

Fishing the Ambrose this August I hooked up on what I thought at first to be a doormat but then no head shake. Brought up 2 Horseshoe crabs doing the wild thing lol.

When I returned Tuesday, I caught a snag with a 6 oz bank sinker attached. I also landed a hickory shad and lost one. I only saw other fishermen catch and release a small blackfish.

Great hookset though. Very circle hookish!

My son and I are planning to Dive the Manasquan side of the inlet on the high tide sunday morning. We usually climb in where the seawall meets the jetty rocks and head out at about 15-20ft depth until we can feel the tide picking up to the point we don't want to swim to hard to get back in. I'm a distance away here in readington nj and was wondering what the visibility in the inlet has been since the storms have pulled away for a while. Looks like in your picture where you are pulling up the jetty treasures that its typical fall cold water clearish. That usually means good visibility for us. What do you or anybody else close by the inlet think the visibility is like now ? Thx !

Yesterday ocean was calm and clear. Inlet was clear after the tide came in for a while. Windowpane flounder arrived yesterday. I caught, tagged and released 3. Surprisingly, the smallest one at 10.5" hit my 7" Bomber Long A17. The other 2 hit a teaser. I tagged 38 fish in the inlet this year. Go shoot a few and report them.
