I was wondering if this cold front turned on the strippers in the surf. This fall I will be surf fishing like when I was a young man. My son totaled my truck so I have no way to trailer my boat. My younger son is excited after I showed him all the bass I caught in the surf 20 + years.

Tons of action yesterday but all small stuff. Kept the rods bent but nothing for the table. Mostly skates and Sharks on bait but some snappers and small bass mixed in.

A few friends and I messed around yesterday afternoon off the beach I Lavalette. Nice action with small blues on mullet rigs all day, even a few fluke as well. No stripers yet though. Pretty consistent action.

I only saw 1 small herring caught in Manasquan Inlet last week, but the previous week I saw a keeper bass caught on a black and purple plug in the pocket at 6:15 PM.

Caught a small striper around 20 inches on a popper around dusk last night, some larger fish jumping just out of range on the Keansburg flats.
