Just purchased a Maxel Ocean Max model#OSL08G for jigging tuna. Curious as to the recommendations for a matching rod. Thanks

Mike does great work....neat and good looking rods. If you're looking for inexpensive, look at the shimano trevala rods. Kilsong sells some nice black hole rods. Lastly, I would look at the van staal jigging rods, well made & inexpensive
look at the saltywater tackle race point and OBX blanks.. they are beasts.

I have this reel or maybe it's the class below this one but I love it. I was using an older jigging Rod on a party boat trip and the reel was nice and light great for jigging over long periods of time and it handled 50 pound to 70 pound class yellowfin with no problem.
