Good win but more importantly was the amount of players with points in the game and the fact they stayed out of the box for the most part. Crucial will be if they fixed the power play this year. I think Nash will be dominant in OT 3-3.

Torts said Blocking Shots is part of defense.... after seeing what that puck did to Zuc and Hank last season, not every player wants to block that shot and might hate him by end of season like the Rangers did a couple years ago...

Weekend Wrapup: Disappointing loss to Flyers Saturday.... Hank did soooo good all game and then blew it in Shootout.... whole team played hard and Nash still can't bury the puck :rolleyes:

You can see how emotionally and physically drained they were starting last night against Calgary, but someone gave a good pep talk and they really came alive as game went on. I'm proud of them.... and Raanta was FANTASTIC again.... finally, watching Nash, his shots are soooo predictable that the goalies got him figured out.... 10 games already and "1" charity goal!!! He needs some new moves on goal!! ;)

Took a while to get going last night after having 4 days of no games.

Congrats to Zuc on his 1st Hat Trick.... that line looked awesome!!! But where the heck is the rest of the team when it comes to scoring?? OMG..against a team that isn't good at ANYTHING!!!

Grabbed tickets for the Devils matinee today since I've never seen Tavares play in person. Of course he's a scratch an hour before the game starts!

Kids had fun nonetheless and the freak show I expected at a Halloween game didn't disappoint!!!.....:p

Was never a fan of the shootout but the 3 on 3 OT is even worse when you see it first hand IMO. If I want to watch a pond hockey game I'll go to the local pond!

After a slow start, Rangers took command the rest of the game against a Carolina team that looked more like a minor league team.... but who cares... we got 2 more pts, Nash got a real goal and looked much more confident, we had some great passing and Hank got his first shutout and added to his #1 stats this season.... Yayyyyyyyyy!!!!!!

Kreider and Nash are both big but the problem with those 2 becoming enforcers is we can't afford to lose them for fighting majors or worse yet 10 minute or game misconducts.... we need them both to get on their games and start SCORING MORE!!! We got the bad end of the deal trading Hagelin away... I miss his speed and scoring ability which wasn't replaced :(

It's definitely a show and entertainment now.... all the talk now is how to get more goals scored to make it more entertaining and draw more viewers... give me a break... I don't want to see scores like 8-6, 14-9, like All-Star games.

Make the goal bigger (yeah, make it the size of soccer goals) or make the goalies wear smaller pads....

Just my opinion, but certainly not what I want... Every goalie in the NHL these days are amazing keeping that puck out of the net even with all the players being bigger, stronger and super fast shots. I don't want to see that taken away.... for me that's more entertainment then every other shot being a goal!

OMG.... the LOSING situation is now getting worse each game... what is with this team?? What happened to their speed and playmaking? They can't get by anyone's blueline anymore and are blowing all their shooting chances by the net.. It's a complete team breakdown right now.....

The first 20 games, Lundqvist and Raanta kept them in the games for the wins... you just can't keep winning games scoring 1 or zero goals/game

Yandle and Boyle (who said he's retiring end of this season) have not been the magic missing piece like they were hoping.... I think Girardi is going to be traded next to still find a fast, playmaking "D" who can bring that puck up FAST and also be part of the offense....

Something has to change, but fast or they're going down quick in the standings .... They're losing to all the teams that should have been wins!! :mad:

The NHL and hockey in general is without a doubt a niche sport. You either love it or hate it. Those people on the fence who watch a few games a year or just playoff games, will not start watching night after night because a ton of goals are scored every game.

I watch soccer every 4 yrs during the World Cup, thats it..... never any other time. If you told me they changed the rules and games ended 12-11...I still wouldnt watch...just not my thing....kinda feels like the NHL is the same concept.

Slowly moving away from a Great Game to An Entertainment Business like everything else... ($$$$ rule) You can tell all the announcers are encouraged by the league to say how entertaining the 3 on 3 OT is, to make you think it's wonderful :rolleyes:

With our top players not being able to score, the rest of the team is following suit... Zuc - no points in last 4 games with ONE GOAL in last 9 games UGH!!!
Nash (getting approx $95,000/game) has 2 assists in last 6 games UGH UGH!!

Blowing 5 PP against Vancouver!!!! We couldn't do any worse bringing up some Hartford guys who are hungry and sit these guys out a game or two..

Stayed up to watch the Edmonton Fiasco.... OMG... things are getting worse not better.... Defense never showed up for the game.... they left Lundqvist being the only defense out there and he finally broke down too...they are a bunch of lost souls out there and it's really getting embarrassing

AV completely changing around all the lines for tonight against TB... Our "star" forwards all going down 1 line and Kevin Hayes to sit it out and wonder why he sucks this year and hasn't scored in last 16 games.

When things go bad, rumors start flying from who can they trade for a pure shooter, who doesn't always think pass first like all our guys.... to how Kreider is not liked in the dressing room and has hands of stone and can't finish any rush with a goal..... to how Lundqvist wants everyone to be his sub-goalie and help block shots to make his numbers looks better, instead of letting everyone think Offense and start SCORING some goals....

Of course, the who to trade rumors are at it again, from Stepan, Kreider, Hayes and even Nash (which would be hard with a No Trade Clause).

HOW MANY SHOTS ON GOAL?? Shooting 101 practice today at 10am for entire team!!! I'm thankful for the 2 pts but the score should've been 8-2 at least.... looked like Miller had a magnet in his gut and every shot went straight to it instead of any open spot.... every one of these guys have been practicing shooting pucks since they were on skates, yet no one showed any shooting skills whatsoever.

The rest of their game certainly improved, but look who they were playing... :rolleyes:

If the Rangers didn't get into such a bad losing streak, they wouldn't be that far behind the Caps right now...... I do see an improvement in their defense and happy for another 2 pts last night.... still need Nash and some of these forwards to sharpen their shooting skills and START SCORING ALREADY!!

Nash, Zuc, Hayes, Fast, Lindberg, Stalberg all need to come alive from now till April and start scoring and we will be right up there in the final standings.

Nash has been no threat to goalies, even when he has a breakaway.... his shots are too predictable...

simmonds is a career scumbag, that's why. they don't give pieces of crap the benefit of doubt. all mcdonough did was put his stick up when that grunt was coming at him for a cheap shot. There have been many bad calls this year in a lot of games I watched.... I used to know a lot of the refs, from watching for many years but they've all retired and I don't know any of these guys lately..... that's why they went to a video challenge cause of the too many wrong calls....:( When it was only 1 ref I don't think there were this many bad calls

Agreed overall, Hockey is becoming a non contact sport except for BIG hits! The devils would have never won a Cup with these rules.
That call at 3-2 Rangers was actually on Stalburg in the third period and was a hold as he grabbed his leg but the dis-allowed Girardi goal, Krieders penalty in the first period and Yandles small grab after Stalburgs penalty were sure questionable at best.
We stayed with them most of the game but again lost on special teams and Hank was great at times and average on some.

Well... this is trade deadline week.... Rangers must do something to get some scoring.... nothing will surprise me this time.... since Montreal is a dying ship, maybe Yandle (even though he's playing good) for Subban? I know they're looking for a 4th line winger since they put Paille on waivers already, but they need a top 2 line scorer to start putting more pucks IN THE NET!!

I also think there's more to Nash's injury then just a bone bruise, but they don't won't to say it...

And lastly, even though the league is cracking down on all these dirty hits, it continues every day.... when you're 25 years old making 4-5 mil, getting suspended and taking away a few games pay isn't deterring anyone.... it's gonna take just that one dirty hit that actually kills someone on the ice to get the league to really do something....

Rangers made Jimmy Howard look like an all-star goalie last night not being able to get almost anything past him but actually hes been terrible the last couple months letting in 3 goals a game and losing. And we couldn't get 1 puck past him in regulation!!! Thats NOT GOOD!!

bad calls have always been a part of every sport yeah (i can accept missed calls or whatever) but when the same exact thing happens 3 times in a game and it's only a penalty 1 of the times or it's not a penalty anymore if it happens in a situation where it would make a 5-3 or it's not a penalty anymore if it's the 3rd period....then i start wondering wtf is going on here...

Rangers were unbelievable up until it was 3-2, and then "POOF" they fell apart the rest of the game...

I keep saying they need a pure shooter/scorer who is consistent every game... way too many missed opportunities putting the puck in the net is what lost it.... Biggest disappointment again was Kreider who consistently CAN'T FINISH!! Fast too last night couldn't finish

Losing to the devils usually takes at least 8 to 24 hours to get past and now St Louis and Dallas up next. I just hope we don't over react at the trade deadline.
While it would be nice to have someone who can score at will or more important when we have the open chances we still are 5th in the league in scoring, 2nd place in the Metro and have a great chance for a playoff spot.
Hank looks solid again, we just need to SHOOT more when the lane is there instead of the extra pass. Its all confidence

Agreed we have to stop getting out hustled for pucks, Kreider whom I loved in the past is a shell of the player he can be this year and annoys me every night lately but he is only 24 and to trade him for Eric Stall or Loui Eriksson or worse Patrick Marleau may backfire as did all our other younger for older trades in the past. I would rather have a good third line Center who can win face offs and grind or if we trade with Carolina get Jeff Skinner instead of Eric Stall. A proven 3rd line center gets Hayes back to wing and balances lines 1 and 2. Except AV will change that every night anyway.

Figure we need 30 points out of the remaining games to be solid for a another run in the "real" season. Devils wont be there but still hate loosing that game as we could have buried them

You guys might find this interesting...I work with a guy who is friends with some guys who are on the in crowd around msg (idk the details). Anyway he told me that they said there is a lot of crap going on in the Rangers locker room including the coaching staff not calling specific players out and instead guys like zucc calling guys like Nash out for lack of effort causing a lot of problems.

Basically hearsay but I'm sure if it's not totally true there's probably some truth too it...thought I'd share.

A Sweet Win and Confidence Builder win over Dallas and the best part of the whole game was actually seeing a smile on Kreiders face after he scored!!! :D Now that's a Good Sign that maybe he's getting his confidence back and we certainly need him to step up to his potential for the next 20 games... So right BD.... this is the team now that has to go all the way... no more trades.... and unless EVERYONE on the team Steps UP their game, they aren't going far... once again last night the defense can't control the puck at the end and by some stroke of luck, Raanta was able to block 2 point blank shots before the 3rd one goes in, but didn't beat the clock.... this has been a Ranger problem all season. And they definitely need to start taking more chances shooting and stop playing keep away until they turn the puck over .... it sounds easy but the coaches must be saying something different because they KEEP DOING IT GAME AFTER GAME!! Bad loss to Islanders :mad:.... almost end of season and team looks totally out of sync again.... Time for new coaching?:confused: Noone is getting his system to work this year.... Eric Staal, only here for 3 games, played better then the rest of the team... sure they finally scored 4 goals for a change... but GAVE UP 6!! AV's defensive system not working and running out of time.... If they don't wake up they could be OUT of the playoffs real quick!!

I've been saying it since his first season here (even when they were doing pretty well)...this coach does not have it in him to win a cup...ever...with any team. You want to have a laid back coaching style...that's fine...but there always comes a time where you need to actually get your nose dirty! and this guy won't do it EVER. You see him try to get mad and it looks like he doesn't even know how, it's psychologically disturbing actually haha.

I'm going to the game sunday cause the seats were too good to pass up for the price...i'm very scared of what i'm going to see.

And once again they let a bottom dwelling team to comeback with a couple goals and if it weren't for Raanta, they might've totally embarrassed the Rangers and WIN!! Didn't take long for E Staal to show what he's brought to this team.... I look forward to his line being on the ice and playing fast... This team just doesn't look like a contender and like you say Chrisper, this coaching staff don't seem like they can take them there..... which is too bad, cause it's going to be the end of this core group after this season and we've traded away so many draft picks for the next few years, we're going to have to start building all over again...:(
