Fresh off the return from Cancun Mexico. Had the opportunity to fish on a charter boat HAMMER with a crew of 4, a gentleman from France who I was able to have basic conversations with in French, a couple from Indiana with no deep sea experience and myself. Seas were a bit chopped up from the winds. Previous week reports were not great with minimal hook ups. First hook up in 75 ft of blue azure water and the Indiana Girlfriend struggles with a nice fish. Boyfriend steps in and does land a nice female mahi. Next fish up a little smaller and I'm on reel, a few ariel jumps and flashes of nice color and fish is in the boat. Still on the troll and watching the birds above, we hit a triple header. Two nice smaller mahi mahi and a nice bull get to the boat. Fortunate that we were on the right boat as two others went out and got the skunk. Was able to bring fillets back to hotel restaurant that cooked up a fabulous dinner ( ironically called the Dorado ) for us with a blackened version of fish and good karma was able to share a fillet with another couple who went out of another marina and had one snapper for their efforts. Smiles all the way around.
