got there at 3:30am Thursday to fish a ns pb leaving at 5am to fish sea bass and porgys.wrong,as the boat was already loaded up with peeps and more trying to get on.so we opted for the 8am 1/2 day trip.it was blues and striper jigging.we head out the inlet and run about 2 miles and the capt blows the horn.my son and I hook up right away with big blues, they were all 10-15lbs and full of fight.we caught from the first horn to the last.the ne wind was building so no boats sailed the pm trip so we chased the albies all around the inlet for the rest of the day as they were blowing up on bait everywhere.
Friday we take the a.m. trip for porgys and sea bass.boat leaves at 8am and we sail 3 miles from the inlet and the capt hits the horn.as soon as the bait hits the bottom the giant porgys were waiting.it was drop and reel with many double headers.all hub caps,no small ones at all.it was just plain crazy fishing
with all big big pork chops.we had our limit and started handing fish to those who were not as lucky.so after the a.m. trip we have an afternoon charter for jigging sea bass.it was not as crazy as the a.m. but we did manage to bring back 24 nice big sea bass with all over 15 inches.we had plenty of action the whole trip.
Saturday we get up and hit the same half day pb for some more bottom fishing.capt says he wants to try for sea bass first and heads to some deeper water.hit the horn and my son and I drop the jigs.i hook up right away with a nice big sea bass.now my son is on and this fish is kicking like crazy.get it up and it a giant porgy on the jig,now I've seen it all.we did ok and decide to stay for the pm trip.head out to the same area and start the catching all over again.a good mix of big porgys and sea bass.we were going to just sleep in sunday and drive home but we said the hell with it and hit the a.m. trip on the same boat.good fishing again with big porgys and my sons 6.2lb sea bass.if you want good bottom fishing head out the and have some fun.we fished 3-1/2 days out of 4 and just had an all around great trip.
