Many days are lost to the weather each year. This year is no exception if not worse than others. Late Spring and cold weather delayed the start of the striper run. Not so great summer weather wise. Quite a few weekends were lost to mother nature. This is reality and it happens every year. Many off shore canyon tuna trips are lost to bad weather. Blackfish opens mid Nov. We all know how unpredictable the fall weather can be. Most of us can only get out on weekends and we loose many days in the late fall blackfish season. All the above are common knowledge to recreational anglers. The reality is in my opinion -Fisheries Management should come to terms with reality.

When the scientific masterminds plug in their numbers, there are not many variable built in. They use a formula and call the results scientific. The term science is a misnomer. They are a blink above mathematicians. Weather, water temperatures, forage fish, currents, yada, yada, yada, make no difference because they are not part of the formula and not in the final equation. Not even Sheldon Cooper would draw a conclusion based on the information used in the formula. Maybe he would be a better scientific resource.

It's not about managing the fishery but about managing the fisherman. Make no mistake the powers that be and the political lobbyist do not want us fishing and will slowly bleed us out of this great pastime.
