Bunk,

Fort Pond for walleye and you can thank me later.

LoL

But both sides on Montauk are good for fishing. As my memory serves me right one side is good for blues and other for porgies but don't remember which one.

Best advice I can give is to trek away from main entrance points to the beach and I am talking like a mile or two away. You will be rewarded for your trek.

Catchem up Shrimpy. My advice? Leave that shitty white pole home. Oh I still have your Striper Arod here at the house.

If the boat is a no go, grab some sand worms and fish the town beaches where ever you find rocks. You can load up on dinner plate porgies and maybe nail a keeper striper if the timing is right. Wouldn't hurt to bring some fresh NJ clams too! The sound side can be equally as fruitful. Also, another option is fluke on light tackle in the harbor/inlet. 10 lb braid, trimmed 3/8 - 1/2 oz spros tipped with gulp swimming mullets. You can bang fluke like crazy doing this, from either side or drift the inlet.

No idea what Andre is talking about with the walleye... It's montauk! :D

My trip was cancelled. Heard it was nasty today and worse tomorrow. Rumor has it the wee jack didn't go today.

I'm leaving for moriches at 5am, little more than halfway thru the island to Montauk, uncle just picked up a new used 26 wa...worse case we'll anchor in his inlet and try for stripers on clam or whatever better than nothing...one thing for sure is his bay gets nowhere near as bad as Raritan bay so it will be tolerable!
