capts kevin gerrity and dave bender took long time customer tony locantore of denville and friends out for their annual overnighter. we decided to mahi fish rightb away in flat calm conditions. we boated three dozen and went back to the tuna grounds. we immediately had a longfin on that was lost at the boat, then we boated another and had a yellowfin on that pulled the hook close to the boat. unfortunately that yellowfin must have been the alpha male because the school followed him. we set up in the deep looking for a bigeye but no love. at 10:30 a rod goes screeming off and right away kevin says" swordfish" he was on a tuna rod with only 60 lb flouro so the odds were with him. billy#1 fought him first then passed the rod to billy#2 after two hours kevin had the poon in his hand and yup##@@@ oh well
we ended the trip with three dozen mahi four yellowfins and the longfin, in tony's words
