capt's kevin gerrity and dave bender had the pleasure of taking two time all american wrestler from rider university back out on the jenny lee. with carv was his uncle bo, cousins john and eric and big billy. when eric got on the boat he had a jigging rod with a huge spinning reel and he said he was gonna jig all night.
when we arrived at the canyon we set up right away and sure enough eric was jigging, it didn't take long after dark for him to hook a bigeye that was running west off the stern, i asked if we should clear the rods and he was ok with us still fishing.. the fish had other ideas. by the time we started the engines the bigeye took off for parts unknown and spooled erics rod. after a short while longer and another jig and rod he did it again, this was another bigeye, but erics power pro was overlapped and stuck and the line parted. we had a60lb yellowfin hit a bait and caught him. later that night we got a bait rod go off anf it went through all the boys, in the end we had a 150lb bigeye hit the deck. no more tuna love so in the morning we put two dozen mahi in the box. bo has already booked for next year. these guys are a pleasure to be with
