Fished with Cashin, Phil"Wreckfish" and Jersey Joe. We went deep 90' to the mudhole area in thick fog. Luckily the HD radar works great because there were ships and Tugs everywhere blowing there foghorns. We caught Ling, Seabass and a short Fluke. Made several moves and wound up by Ambrose bouy 1 with the fleet. Waved hello to the 2 beautiful Down Deep charter boats. Phil puts a 19" keeper in the box. BigAl was on BobS boat scouting out the Shrews Rocks and Rattlesnake with a 5+ in the cooler.
Fog was lifting a bit and the 2pm weigh in deadline was a few hours away so check my charts and notes from previous years and point the bow to Coney Island. A deep 90' area where I have done well last September. Phil gets a nice hit and reels in a nice 6.11lb Fluke. Chris netted it like a pro. Then we all get mugged by Gator Bluefish. Lines get tangled and Bucktails lost.. Made a few more drifts and head for Marina to make the weigh in. We got 2nd place , first was a 9+ fish.
Tough day of fishing for most of the boats in he tourney. We only had 2 keepers.
Good day on the water with great guys..

Lets hope for a window next week as it looks crappy thru the weekend offshore..... I want to do one last trip to the deep too.

Let me know if your going to head offshore next week. Fishtales and I are waiting for the next window.
