Tom "the Hammer" Krako landed his personal best today at Eight Pounds, Fourteen ounces to take the lead in our Big Pool topping Mike R's 8.7 caught over a month ago. We have had 2 fish over 10 and a few 9 plus the past couple of weeks, those fish won the daily pool but were not in the yearly big fish pool. Still some big ones out there as I believe Capt. George on the Angler had one over 9lbs today!
Very tough fishing most of the day as we had absolutely No drift! What little current we had was into the slight breeze which stopped us dead no matter where we went. I covered many miles, inshore, offshore, fishing all the snags and rock bottom that we've been fishing the past few weeks. Even power drifted hoping that would work to only land a few fish.
Came back to the North for the change of tide late in the day and glad we did....Finally had a float and started to pick away. Tom the Vet and Capt. Ron Sr. landed 3 nice keepers on a long drift. Several other nice fish around the boat along with the shorts for the action.
Conditions are everything, the fish are still here, the bait is here. Back at it tomorrow with bells on looking for another 10 plus!
