Had a four man charter yesterday ,consisting of 2 adults and to young fellas.we were going porgy fishinand i gave them a quick speech on how to fish for these things.set up the father on one side of the boat and put the little guy next to me on the other side.wanted him next to me so i could guide him.working my bait trying to find the range and every time down this little guy would hook up.he kicked my butt and i loved every minute of it,he is hooked on fishin.this is one more of the perks that come with being a charter boat captain.stay well capt tommy joseph

I was that young man a long time ago too.i was on a charter with capt tom that I thought was suppose to be a fluke charter.well when the peep that put it together gets to the boat he tells me that it is a blackfish trip.i had never done much blackfishing back then and was alittle pissed. I guess capt tom picked up on it and pulls me aside and tells me not to worry he will show me how and what to do.to make a long story short not only did we catch a bunch of fish but capt tommy showed me the does and donts of blackfishing that has had me chasing togs since then.i still use the same rig.thanks allot capt tom for all the peeps you have help along the years.

Some great stories guys. Capt Tommy also helped my young nephews on there first blackfish trip as he would stand next to him and coach them through the bite. They asked me how does this old guy know when the fish is actually taking the bait and when the right time to swing. I told him it was Magic as Capt Tommy has some special powers that allow him to see through the water and communicate with the fish. My youngest nephew was amazed and still always ask me about the old Capt and when i am going to take him fishing again.

He not only helped the young kids but helped my older brother get the feel as he never blackfished before this trip 2 yrs ago. Even an old salt like me who has been chasing these bait stealers for 30+ years learned a few things that has made me a better angler and even a better person do to my experience with Capt Tommy. We are truly blessed to have him around and passing along his wisdom to the younger generation.

Here is pic of Aiden on our first trip w Capt, Tommy.
Wanted to take the kids porgy fishing before school starts, called Capt Tom and he had a personal appointment he couldn't get out of so after a long search for a boat targeting porgy and couldn't find any I gave up :o then got a call from Capt Tom that he saw our post desperately looking for a boat and he will change his appointment and get the kids fishing (only 4 p) ;) I didn't know who was happier me or my 12y.
Caught all the porgy we wanted then switched to fluke It was a true pleasure to fish on the Rightaway w Capt Tom a true gentleman a great fisherman.
We had a great time on the trip Captain Tommy and Captain Ed made 4 more loyal client/ Friend.

Too bad I was working. Tommy called me about a guy with some kids that wanted to go and asked if I could come. I wondered if it was you.

Capt Tommy

As you know Life is a Journey
It is not how we start that we are judged but how we finish that counts.

I hope so too. I helped his Dad a bit when he started porgy fishing on the Mohawk. Sounds like the kid is already better than him.:D

I know one thing for certain. There is nothing better than the smiles and the sounds of children's laughter. You help achieve that for him. Well done!!! I wish you many more moments like this one.
