Seems like every few years things start going south around here and I need to put up a post like this since I don't want our community and this site to go the way others have. The negativity and the drama needs to stop!!
A few simple rules:
- First and foremost, if you don't have something nice to say, don't say anything at all.
- If you have an opinion state it respectfully
- If you have personal gripe with someone or something keep it off the board
- No personal attacks, name calling or bullying
Think about this before you post something.
- Is what you are posting supporting someone and or adding any value or is it divisive and self serving?
- Will it lift someone up or is it meant to tear someone down?
- Will it serve to unite or divide us?
- Would you want your son or daughter to see it?
- Have you given the benefit of doubt to someone and or have you assumed anything?
- If you were not there and don't know exactly what happened, you should NOT be making any accusations nor should you fan the fire of a post that does.
- Are you about to post something in anger or in the heat of the moment? If so, give it a day and let your anger go before you post.
At the end of the day, we want this to be a positive place where people feel welcome and support one and other. We do not want it to become a dumping ground for people who want to take shots at, force their opinions and personal agendas on or accuse others.
I decided a long time ago that we were going to try and take the high road here. Sure, drama sells and drives traffic but ultimately it's the quality, not the quantity of people and posts that makes or brakes a community.
If you can't follow these simple rules you are not welcome here.
