I can't say I have ever had a great fishing trip in tidal waters during a full moon although I go anyway! I have talked to varies people about this with different answers depending on if there in the business or not although I have had a few agree that the fishing is mostly not that good during a full moon. I say if you have the time and the weather is fine. Just go fishing no matter what moon it is. Good luck!

I run a business, have a new home, a wife who busts my ballz and a 2 year old daughter. If the moon decided to crash into the Earth...I'd still grab my gear and go!!

True that!! Nothing beats time on the water, full moon, catching or not.

A lot of days I'll take people out and not even fish. I'll just sit back, relax, decompress and enjoy the company. I come home a lot more mellow and sleep like a baby that night.

It's not the destination, its the journey.

I've had plenty of bad fishing when the moon wasn't full, so no I don't pay it no mind. If I thought about all the reasons not to go (yard work, house work, job, wife, etc. etc.) I'd never leave the house.

Saltwater or freshwater. All the old timers swear fishing is tougher during a full moon. It seems to effect freshwater fishing a lot more.
I never caught much during a full moon hard runnning tide. It's like a jinx you wish would go away the day you are out there. Kind of hard to feel a 2lb. fluke dragging a 10-12oz. sinker at 3 knots or more.
Old proverb: When the moon is high, fishings nigh. There is some truth to that.

Wasn't in Jersey but fluking was excellent yesterday in Long Island. I was using 1.5 ounces in 80 feet. All depends on the conditions

If u ever catch a full moon bite offshore u will never have any doubts about how good it can be !
Looking over today's inshore reports should make u a believer ! I'll never miss an opportunity to fish on the moon !

My dad and I had our best day of fishing of the yesterday and between the two of us we got 8 keepers in about 2 hours. All fish were caught on the outgoing tide before the southeast wind turned on. I guess luck was on our side yesterday.
