ling beat down!!!

fished a ns out of point yesterday for ling.lite crowd for a sunday in august,sign of the times I guess.anchored up on the 1st spot and it was drop and reel doubles for the first 45 minutes.as soon as the bait hit the bottom it was being eaten.it slowed a bit but was always good.never had to wait more then a few minutes for a hit.capt made a wiggle and it was ling crazy again for
the next hour.picked up anchors and made a short move,maybe 3 miles.set the anchors and its game on again.my son and I had 140 by days end.they were mixed in size from jumbo right down to hot dog.a few flonder and cod were also caught.great day to be out.

What was the bait of choice? Im heading out tbis weekend for em

just plain clam. 2 hooks on the bottom was rig of choice.bring some lead as we
needed 10oz to fish them.there are still allot of cod around so you might want a high hook also.small pieces of bait worked best.remember to bonce the sinker a little.small little bonces seemed to get their attention.
