It is safe to say it was not our week fishing the Mid-Atlantic out of Cape May. The first two days we made the 124.5 mile run to the edge of the fishing grounds just to have our hopes crushed when a Bigeye left a hole in the water behind our long rigger. We pulled the hook on a white marlin there and also boated a 45lb yellowfin. That was that. Fish day number 3 came and we had to make a better move so we went to where the majority of the fish were caught for the tournament. 6 Hours in we had a white came up, sent him back a bait and it was game on. The white was a good stress reliever as it was nice to get a fish to the boat after a long week. With a half hour left we had a bite on a plug that was short lived after a short run. We ended the tournament 1 for 2 on whites and a yellowfin. Missed an eyeball bite that will forever be burned into our brains!! Tough fishing from 8am to 3:30 for these beasts that have been feeding the evening hours. Back to work this week running a few overnight trips then we will be fishing the MRMTC tournament with the usual crew.
Congratulations to MJs, Blue Runner(Monster Wahoo), Canyon Runner and everyone else in the money.
