A buddy of mine caught this snapper fishing yesterday. Any idea what it is?

Sme type of grouper, although it does look like a wreckfish.

this one is a baby snowy but, interestingly enough, last weekend I had a 7" baby BLACK grouper in my crab trap in the manasquan river. yes, it was a baby black grouper.
