Today we hosted the Save the Summer Flounder, Fundraising fishing trip. And that's exactly what we did, we saved the fish today!! All with the exception of Chris Wilson, Bloomsbure, N.J. who landed our largest of the season at 10.6 pounds!
Picked away in the AM on shorts and some keepers but as the current started to run on the incoming, the wind blew harder from the NW, taking away any hope for a drift. Fished several area's all with the same results.
Larry (Heart-attack) fishing in the bow had the hot hand today landing way too may 17 1/2 inch fish and keeping one for dinner. Tom, Henry, Richie and a few others had nice keepers. Shrimp-man, well, Steve is the same old Steve I remember from way back when!
Great group of people on board, much respect to each and everyone for the support you give, it won't be forgotten.
A Special thanks to Dave Daily for doing what you do and what you have to go through putting these things together....All the folks who donated from the heart and not because they had too, Thank you.
This day was a success for sure!!
Capt. Ron CHARTERED IN THE AM!

What a great time on the water we had today..... Just love these sorts of trips where everyone comes together for a common cause.
Ron, Lou and crew took very good care of us and it's only fitting that the biggest fish of the year so far on The Fisherman was caught on the SSFFF trip.
Thanks everyone for coming out and already looking forward to our next trip.

Was that an RFA trip? No rain, no 110 degree heat and we caught fish. Ron did a great job finding us some nice fish, of course the 10.6# was an awesome catch. Dave did a great job putting this together as always. Can't wait till the next one. :D

My first of what I hope will be many more outings with the SSFF group. Excellent day on the water. Great captain and mates. Thanks to all who worked so hard to make this trip a successful one.
By the way, when does the Shrimpman get some love?:D

To echo all, great to be with so many good people on the water, (-1) Only one complainer, guess who, SS.
As always I enjoy Ron's desire to always try and put us on fish, most of us caught , but we all enjoyed. I spoke to Dave last night, this was the most successful fundraiser to date, so thanks to all who participated, and to all that donated.
The target is now to get the science done, and get it accepted so that we can continue to fish for many more years.
Henry
PS to the Prefesser, He is the Rodney Dangerfield of NJ Fishing.

Great day indeed! All of your guys support is unwavering year after year, appreciated and makes any successes going forward possible. I will post the numbers later but can tell it was probably our best $$ fundraiser to date:D
Thanks Capt, Ron, Mike and Lou for taking care of us all day. The Fishermen is a great platform and Capt / Crew make it even better for a full fishing experience.
Congrats Chris on a fantastic "mat" . well deserved.
Rain stayed away! I am sure Ron was happy with the wind against but yet still managed to put us on some fish. Lots of laughs and just a great day to be out.
Not going to bother with a fishing report as it was your basic Fluke trip with keepers, shorts, and other stuff. Millions (ok couple of hundred) of Rods, gulp, bucktails, bait etc flying but more important great people and that's what I take from these trips. Lots of anglers who deserve caught, and won raffle prizes along with all the "Hey Dave what can I do, pick up or help with" which is amazing. You know who you are. Sponser donators huge! I believe I covered names in previous posts
Also have to add a late mention of Pete @ Atlantic Bait and Tackle. Didn't bother him this trip for a raffle prize as I have so many other trips because I felt he has given so much in the past. So what happens, Joey Z stops in his shop for stuff and Pete donates a very nice tackle Bag. Thanks Pete your the best!
Looks like I may have to keep this tradition going:D

Complainer? Don't know what that's about. I did complain about my lack of keepers but that was only because Joey and dales both beat me like a red headed stepchild :D
It was very nice fishing the fishermen. Good to see capt Ron and several old friends.
Only two shorts all day for me. That may explain my crankyness:cool:
Congrats to Joey on the 50/50 and other prizes he won. To Larry and cadishack thanks for putting up with me. To everyone se, it is always a pleasure.
Rodney dangerfeild? He's well liked, I guess there could be worse comparisons:)

What I do know is that when I joined this site in 2008 shrimpy had at least that many posts already and most contained fish reports. so maybe an off year but this man has and can catch with the best.
Ok that cost you another $100.00 as discussed Steve!:D

First trip with the RFA gang and it was fantastic!
Thanks to Dales for putting this gig together and to Capt. Ron for finding us some fish (I hear that that's rare for an RFA trip). your crew was upbeat and on the ball all day. Special thanks to them!
I scored 2 keepers, 2 open boats, and a Costa gift basket... I'll fish next to Shrimpy every time for a day like that! ;) Met a lot of great people and made a few new friends. Looking forward to the next get together... Art
P.S. Love my new Costas Jamie! Thanks again!

I saw you get in a 20 minute tangle fishing a chicken rig with 3 1/4 buck tails and a 8oz buck tail on the bottom 4 squid strip 8 spearing any 10 bags of gulp  I thought you was Mackeral fishing lol. I think you should post the video of you washing out your tackle bag when you got home. All I know is you're a much better fisherman than you showed on that trip. But like I have been doing for the last 3 trips you down right sucked!!!! Perhaps you can suck that bad the next time I take you out with me? That would be nice for a change. Mr. Bing
