1. Does anyone have any knowledge about bass fishing at Lake Dixon near San Diego this time of the year? Swim Bait? blades? senko? spinnerbait? tube? The legend goes... 25 lb bass was caught here .. not an official record due to foul hooking..
According to the Park Ranger, they do have Dottie mounted at the Ranger station at Lake Dixon.
2. Are anyone familiar with fishing from the shore / beach in San Diego using light set up (7' rod, 12 lb mono) and using 3" freshwater jerk bait (even though it's Pacific Ocean)?
Thanks

I live in Redondo Beach, CA about two hours north. I am not much of a freshwater fisherman, but there are monster bass here. I would scrap the freshwater plans and head to saltwater. In San Diego bay you can catch bay bass, halibut, white sea bass, bonefish etc. Fish jigs around structure no different then freshwater bass fishing. docks, rocks, bridges, seams etc. you will catch some fish. If you have an opportunity jump on a boat...we are having the best tuna fishing in memory out here. we had 25-60 lb bluefins & yellowfins miles off the beach on Saturday....they were going airborne for poppers it was insane.
