My son moved down to Medford and wanted to hop on a Party Boat with me. Rather than him fight the traffic up North, I met him on LBI and we went on a half-day party boat out of Barnegat Light on Sunday. The easterly ocean swells were relentless; half the fares were flukin', the other half were pukin' . Fishing was worse than terrible. We were the only boat in the Ocean, fleet was gathered inside the inlet. As soon as the third horn sounded to end the day, Brian hooked up with the only Keeper Fluke caught for 50 or so fares. It was a substantial pool winner but still did not salvage a miserable day flukin'.

I personally had a good June & July jigging for my favorite flatfish. Unfortunately August has been a disaster. Hopefully it turns around this week for Shillelagh Tourney and next week for our RFA/SSFFF event

Thanks for the report Larry. Tough season all around for most of us. Finicky bites, inconsistent fishing from day to day, to much wind not enough... Hope things get better.

Larry, It's been tough down there. We were down in July and maybe had 10 keepers in 2 weeks. Going back down in September and hope to have better results. See you on the 21st. Jeff

I've been fishing the boat Jason works on and although I haven't caught any quality (although it seems as if you need a #6+ to win the pool)- I have been catching and my freezer is becoming full. Still fishing inside.
