Reel Class Thursday 8/6 Fluke - Short Trip

Had our longtime customer Ray and his 3 buddies on today for a few hours of fluking in the morning. We didn't leave the slip until 8:30 and didn't get to the area till just after 9.

Had fish right away, a nice drift, and we mostly had a slow pick for the few hours we fished. We were able to pick a nice keeper for each of the guys (4) through the morning, and the biggest was 22". Still lots of shorts, lots of bites, and lots of life.

For the few hours we fished we had the 4 keepers, and around 30 shorts. Nice quick trip, as we quit just after noon time and were back for lunch :)

allen we were close to you and experienced the same result. many shorts and only 2 keepers. we decided to move out a little further and found a small rock pile that held some better fish. things seemed to pick up when the wind picked up and our drift got a little faster. I was with scott in the grady. believe it or not he picked up a short blackfish on a whole squid. wasn't expecting that at all.
