OK Guys here we go again!
This years trip will be on Friday (yeah I know) Aug 21 from 7AM to 2:30 PM with Capt RON on the Fisherman to benefit as usual our rights to keep on Fluke Fishing. SSFFF has been making great strides in their studies. Our help is needed to finish the next round (see 'sticky thread on top of forum) . I believe we have seen the benefit to date and will continue to do so with your support. Anyone who has been on these trips " gets it" and while the catching hasn't always happened the "Brotherhood HAS! As always your trip cost includes a full day fishing on a great boat, Crew tip, Food and soft drinks.

There will also be great tackle raffle prizes, a 50/50 drawing and boat pool at optional costs

The sign up payment will be through RFA-NJ website www.rfanj.org as usual.
This IS an official sign up list for boarding order.

RFA-NJ, RFA National and SSFFF has sent out email / Face book blasts so anglers are coming from many electronic avenues. Therefore bear with me on your sign up spot. Thanks

Not bad so far at 21 sign ups BUT we need to sell this out.
As they say 10% of the fishermen catch 90%of the fish.

I can say the same for fighting the regulations! Over the last 8 years of running these trips and trying to raise money for SSFFF / RFA-NJ etc etc its always the same 10% anglers that join us raising all the money while others sit idle.

There are many who post complaints about the regulations here that don't join us.
I have heard all the:
Why on a Friday I have to work etc etc.? Then Why on a weekend its too busy out there or have to do home stuff?
The internet is a funny thing as your posts are a time stamp. The same ones who say why a Friday (work day) also post fishing reports on Monday, Tuesday, Wed, Thursday and FRIDAY etc and those who cant do a weekend are posting weekend reports. so I am calling BS.

Some say it doesn't work and is a waste of money but the only other option is to do NOTHING and watch whats left of our recreational fisheries, more Party boats and tackle shops disappear

Are you happy letting the minority do all the work or just maybe YOU want to help as well?

SSFFF Studies / RFA-NJ and many other groups have kept a reasonable Fluke Limit from becoming a closed fishery so no matter how small your contribution it all helps.

Capt Ron called this to arms and RFA-NJ joined in to run this trip so please help those that help you. Capt Ron has shown HE Cares now lets support him.

I can think of a thousand excuses to not go on this trip but there are several reasons to go.

- we need to support the people who support us
- these trips are a ton of fun and a great way to meet other fisherman
- like me I'm sure you've spent a hundred bucks and burned a vacation day on stupider stuff
- the fishing usually sucks but the ball busting is epic

We need to rally the troops here
- if you are coming invite some friends
- share this post on Facebook
- if you can't make it your money is welcome and donations, no matter how small are appreciated and encourages the people who are fighting for us

Sorry Dales, I will still be in Myrtle Beach on this date. Have fun! You choose a great boat and great captain to host this event! I remember my first RFA event, I barley knew anyone on the boat, almost felt awkward boarding the boat. Six years later, I almost know everyone's name on these trips! Sure is a great way to network and make some great fishing buddies!

Up to 26! Need 6 more to sail (covers boat costs and food). Raffles and 50/50 then becomes the only fundraiser part.
Boat can easily handle 50 with plenty of room for all so 24 spots left:confused:
Putting together raffles etc and no matter what it will be a good day as its fishing.

Fluking hopefully picking up and Ron had a decent day today.

Keep u all posted and THANKS for all the supportive posts by the "regulars"

So with over 2,300 views only 34 people seem to have the time to go show their support about our fishery by getting together with some great friends for a day on the water on Capt Ron's Fisherman? This trip has some great raffle prizes donated by some fantastic sponsors. Dave has (as always) put his heart and soul into putting these trips together. Capt Ron is doing all he can to keep us fishing with his work on the SSFFF. I know some people have made donations and not everybody can take a weekday off but I am sure we can get some more to join this trip to help support the SSFFF which is there to save our fishery. Jeff

Remember this is a FUN trip:
Some minor effort at LAB ODDS (no one did it better) but here you go:

SSFFF Aug 21 Odds:

Hartattack: too busy worrying about #1 spot on boarding order and raffle prizes he WILL win. Re-rigging = 50% fishing time. Can catch but not this trip: 75 :1

Henry : On his Honeybee he owns Shark River and can always hookset well (a short). Great Fluke fishermen but this aint the river although knows Rons, His and everyone in a 100 square miles boat which he will identify 50:1

Ron T: The trout Rod works with SR and the moorings but Ambrose maybe not, the maybe is because he can pull a biggin here and there 40 :1

Richie Tropics: ( Bad Santa ) “ its got no shake must be a skate” yet it’s a 5 Lb Fluke but I have seen him do it: 40:1

Greg Hesier: Normally this group can attack and contend, bringing the wives not so much but cant count the wives out, Seen it before : Heiser ,Chris and men 100:1 / Wives 30:1

Joey da fish: Too busy pulling Shrimpmans pants down and owns a weak picture of a Flukeasouras caught On the Obsession. A contender but your not on your boat or blackfishing with a guide: 40:1

Hd Marc: Fished with him once or twice and he admits to being friends with Joey so nuff said 40:1

Art Dando: Could be the puller here out of the Joey da fish club 35:1

The Hammer: home turf on Rons Boat and deserves it:
20:1

Caddishack and Saltlife Da Criswells:
Time for dad to stop paying all the time and losing to Jr who gets a good one most trips
Dad 100:1 / Saltlife 20:1

Geddy Z: Fearless leader of this wonderful site and supports all of us. Shame is fluke don’t read 100:1

Shrimpman: Not a lot of love for shrimpy this year but 4000 trips a season, can catch and odds maker says show him a little love. Rain will hamper lighting the vapor stick so:30:1

Mopar Charlie: Only fished with him a few times but n auto parts screen name? 100:1

Erik S and Son: Son won pool once on this boat on a SSFFF trip but if dad shows up like he does for work = No show 150:1

DockBuilder: Not fishing at the Dock I hope 100:1

J Muha and sons: His brother owns a couple of mats on the Fishermen but he aint coming. 150:1

D Wallerius: outside nj fishing so odds maker cant prediect but asked about rental rods 500:1 or 10:1 who knows

Larry M: Serious on the sweetwater and canyon but bringing entire family so babysitting will take him out 150:1

Bunker Dunker: Great guy, better fisherman and party boat crazy: problem here is fluke don’t eat ava’s with tubes until November. Still a contender : 20:1

Perfesser: Jakesdad possible ringer: 30:1

Capt Yasar: Makes some nice reports but don’t know him well so 100:1

Lenny McGill: Fishermen regular probably fishing the Ron Sr rig but high on the boarding order so Sr cant help 75:1

Will Riverbassfishing: Quiet, way too Happy but yet serious fishermen. Known “mugger” too. Will sneak in under Ron Srs armpit and score. Could be da man 10:1

Alan Nary: another unknown and an admitted “lurker”
500:1

Wow I appreciate the generous odds for me. The way I've been stinking it up lately 1,000,000 : 1 would be more appropriate  but nobody likes a quitter so I will be smoking up a storm in the stern :) while taking my skulking like a whiny little girl :D

After Gene Kelly "singing in the rain" . Heard the BeatKes were good in the 60's but some other band of a similar name overshadowed them:D

Dales,

You forgot the ringer, Ron Sr. 2 to 1. all in the morning.

Hd Marc: Fished with him once or twice and he admits to being friends with Joey so nuff said 40:1

Since I'm driving up tomorrow morning with the more handsome Zagorski brother Joseph for this event, does that shoot me down to 100: 1?:D

Dales,

Absolutely! Man puts on a show daily. FYI to all> Ron Sr fishes the starboard stern corner. Even the charter master has no control over that so consider that spot TAKEN

Also some Boarding advice:
Looks like some rain so when you arrive put all your gear EXCEPT Rods ON THE BOAT inside the cabin or outside near where you expect to fish. That will simplify and speed up the boarding order (yeah sure ) NO RODS in Boat Rail Rod holders until your name is called. (again yeah sure!)

Your odds of getting there safely just got reduced and your taste in Polish men is questionable.

Also have to give a SHOUT OUT to Glenn (Fin Reaper) team Blind squirrel who couldn't make the trip but stopped by my house with a $100.00 check. Full fare and cant go (smart man). Then went so far as to offer Rod setups, bucktails etc for use for those that may not have a quality set-up (umm ME)
Thanks Glenn. I am supposed to return the rods in 3 pieces right?:p

Huge Thanks to Shrimpy, Joey da Fish, Gerry Z , Henry Jakesdad for all the help picking up shyte from everywhere and from our very generous sponser donations. Couldn't do it all without you guys! Glad ur nuts enough to go again!

Ok looks like we are sailing with 44 certifiable nut jobs! (6 spots open just sayin) My phone # is posted everywhere so if you need call me but this guy is tired, leaving work , kissing my lovely wife (thanks Leslie) who has put up with this "fishing fundraiser" for weeks and crashing so see you all in the AM.

Capt Ron ready as ever , sick of hearing my voice and will provide a great effort because he just does. Incoming tide all morning so MOVING WATER is good, fair winds and we wont talk about the wet stuff but may be gone early.

Easier to suck up now because after the trip its unknown how many will "lose my number"

Your very welcome my friend.
Glad to help in some small
Way, and thanks to you and everyone
Else who put in all the work and dug deep
Into their pockets to make this
Happen every year.

And bringing the rods back in 3 pieces
Wouldn't be anything new, I do
It all the time

I'll be driving tomorrow Gerry so we're good, and the only reason I say Joseph is the more handsome Zagorski brother is because Shrimpy insists that it's true:p

Great day indeed! All of your guys support is unwavering year after year, appreciated and makes any successes going forward possible. I will post the numbers later but can tell it was probably our best $$ fundraiser to date
Thanks Capt, Ron, Mike and Lou for taking care of us all day. The Fishermen is a great platform and Capt / Crew make it even better for a full fishing experience.

Congrats Chris on a fantastic "mat" . well deserved.

Rain stayed away! I am sure Ron was happy with the wind against but yet still managed to put us on some fish. Lots of laughs and just a great day to be out.
Not going to bother with a fishing report as it was your basic Fluke trip with keepers, shorts, and other stuff. Millions (ok couple of hundred) of Rods, gulp, bucktails, bait etc flying but more important great people and that's what I take from these trips. Lots of anglers who deserve caught, and won raffle prizes along with all the "Hey Dave what can I do, pick up or help with" which is amazing. You know who you are. Sponser donators huge! I believe I covered names in previous posts

Also have to add a late mention of Pete @ Atlantic Bait and Tackle. Didn't bother him this trip for a raffle prize as I have so many other trips because I felt he has given so much in the past. So what happens, Joey Z stops in his shop for stuff and Pete donates a very nice tackle Bag. Thanks Pete your the best!

Looks like I may have to keep this tradition going
