Anyone been seeing or having any luck with Mahi inshore around the mudhole pots?

Mud Hole was empty on Saturday. Temp is right there but the water color was off and very dirty.

Well, maybe wait a few days or next week and see what happens. Temp shots seemed to have improved over the past several days.

I was bottom fishing there today and the water is very dirty.
Like you couldn't see what you had until it was 2 feet below the surface.

made out pretty good with some cod, ling and limit on sea bass

Ive had a little luck at a wreck. Caught mahi on the bottom on the teaser of the bucktail rig. Trying to carch fluke and catch mahi!! So cool. I posted a report on this last week. Its not luck because this is the third year for mahi in this spot. Other than that, nothing.

Was out last Saturday there is a Testing Buoy being deployed at the Monster Ledge with Tug Boats proceeded to the Glory and started to Troll one knock down. Heard on radio of 35 lb Mahi caught also heard of what angler thought was a white marlin but later turned into being a wahoo

Tried the lobster pots Tuesday with no luck. Water dirty that day too. Noticed less pots around compared to last year. Anyone else have this same observation?

Looked to give friends out on my boat for the first time some action. Jigged near the bunker pods with no luck on blues. Snagged a bunker to live line and hooked a Dusky. Awesome first time experience.

Popping out of bed every morning with Mahi on the brain. Go into my office, crimp a few rigs, check the weather, check for reports, make a few calls, make plans that get screwed up by work or weather and repeat daily.

Wife is totally bewildered by this.... Seems like every other day she catches me with all the gear laid out on living room floor looking at it in a trance. She just smiles, shakes her head and wakes me out of my trance with a "Don't forget to take out the garbage" :)

That's one of the things I love about this great sport of ours, the anticipation...It takes you to a different place and is a nice distraction from the daily grind.

Back to reality... It's recycling day tomorrow

Hey Gerry, You are reminding me of when I go to Hatteras and get "Marlin Fever ". Seems like you have "Mahi Fever ". The only way out is to go there, and catch a big one. Catch 'em up, Gerry...........Papa

You are so right Gerry, looking forward and anticipation of the next trip is what gets us through the daily grind and pressures of work. Hope the mahi are jumping off your stern soon enough;)

Haha well its only 40 ft of water and they are on the bottom and by the buoy. Its pretty cool to catch mahi during a fluke trip.
