Hey guys, again sorry we haven't been posting. Busy busy busy. Oh and frustrated to say the least. Here's a quick summary of what we caught from Wednesday 7/22 through Sunday 7/26.
Wednesday Scott Allisons Charter of 4. Only Scott was bucktailing. It didn't matter. Fishing was bad. Chris and his brother caught a load of robins and took them home for dinner. Lisa enjoyed the weather and Scott caught a couple keeper fluke. Decent amount of shorts though.
Thursday Scott was out again with another crew, 6 this time. The usual suspects. They made me go the other way to try some new territory. Well, let's just say we ended up doing some seabass fishing when we lost the drift. We did catch there 12 seabass, a few ling and a couple keeper fluke. And plenty of short action early on.
Friday had Mike Lynch charter who had to end up working, but his guys filled his spot. Lol. Anyway, we did find some better fishing. Plenty of shorts but did pick at some nice sized keepers all day. Ended the day with 18 keepers to 5.5#.
Saturday we had the PP ELKS Fluke tournament with 6 very good fisherman aboard. We tried like hell all day pounding our big fish spots deep and shallow. Only caught 5 keepers to 5.5#.
Sunday open boat crew of 5. Not much life up where we have been fishing. Came pretty close to home and the bite was on. Mostly shorts but did pick 5 good keepers while drifting over 1.5 knots. Would have def caught some more without the wind and current from the south. Called it an early day.
Look for upcoming open boat trips!!!! It can only get better!
Thanks everyone!
Capt Kris
