I don't know if was my writing or my accent but they messed up my name!............Fanitzi
I'll tell you, that tournament pretty much sucks if you don't win 1st place. Cost us 220.00 for 5 man boat to enter without the calcutta (another 350.00) and we got a lousy 750.00 for 3rd....pretty lame.
Even though we've done well in this tournament doubt we will enter again, especially with SI tournament going on the same day.
Anyway congrats to the winner's.
Anyone know what the calcutta paid...I'm thinking close to 40k.

Thats why we elected to fish the SI tourney.
Longer fishing day, no BS unsafe shot gun start. nor the long run there in the morning and at days end to run back north.
more $$ at the SI tourney, for less entry fee. PLUS the chance to dream about the 50K doormat division.
The PP ELKS use to be the biggest money around for fluke tourneys.
They are now second best.
whats cool is not all the money in the SI tourney has to go to just one big fish,
There was the Big fish calcutta
two fish calcutta, as well as three fish for main tourney.
That splits the many many ways.
the second place team there actually took home 16K there

Might give that some consideration next year...Definitely saw a drop off of regulars at the picnic( I ate clams galore as a result go figure!) Seriously, times are changing, even JCAA offers a $25K big fish, port prize, port calcutta and an over all calcutta now. Now hope the weather holds up...

I fished in the first one they ever had. It USED be a great tournament and picnic now, its seems to be just a money grab for the Elks. I know they donate to different things which is great but it seems they are pricing themselves out of the game. I think that was my last one as well. Used to get 300+ boats I think there was less than 200 with a great weather forecast this year.

Pete..we did the SI also... like the 3 fish total better.... 4th place no money, missed by .10 of an ounce, single biggest going 8.5 which would have been money in Pt.... buy in for ALL catagories was $1075.00.... in reality PP Elks is a tad better since you can win 30-40 g's with an 8-9 lb single fish... this years winner in the SI tourney won the least amount of money
