Mushin Canyon Day Troll 7/24 - Spearfish, Mahi, Dropped a Jumbo

7/24 - Capts Ray and Alan and Mate Anthony had a make-up charter of Dustin and Fred, joined by Bob and Tommy. Pulling into a local canyon at grey light, it took less than 10 minutes for the right one to jump on. Long story short, the short-handed charter fought the bigeye, estimated well over 250# boatside multiple times, but just out of harpoon range, before popping the hook after 1-1/2 hour fight. The rest of this morning consisted of adding some mahi and then Fred boating/releasing a spearfish (his first). Lots of promising signs for the evening as we pulled out for the day.
