It was better quality over quantity today. After hundreds of shorts yesterday I spent today looking for bigger fish. Conditions were poor but we managed some nice fluke today. Dan Castillano from Bethpage LI took the pool with a nice 8 1/4 pound fluke from the 8 pound grounds. He had a long ride and was stuck in traffic and we held the boat up so he could fish with his dad Lou. Is that luck or what? We also had a couple of six's and a real big one for Bill that broke the leader at the net and got away. We may get him tomorrow. Bill still managed a few keepers. With better conditions we would have had a much better catch.

Sailing by 7:30 on Sunday and Monday and 7:00 AM the rest of the week.

Tomorrow should be good with a west wind and outgoing tide.

Thanks Captain George

Two Words Today - No Mas and another two words - I suck
Weird getting to the boat and very few regulars were there and I basically had a pick of were I could fish on the entire boat, most were at tournaments today and I think there were a few.Took my normal spot though - NFG.

First drift started off pretty good, some keepers and shorts were caught,I even had a short and the pool winner was caught on the first drift I believe, 2nd drop got worse and so on until there was Zero drift and zero breeze for it being such a beautiful day it got hot and you baked. Conditions sucked from there on out, once again through everything I had from 3's to 3/4 oz bucktails and with 0 conditions a big doughnut man was I pissed. I couldn't catch mussels off the bottom let alone a skate or dogfish.
Texted the wife to get my crap together selling it all and burning the rest, she was very happy to accommodate my request and was looking forward to me not wasting anymore of her money-:D. Then towards the end of the day we finally started to get the drift back and I finally caught a keeper and added a couple of more shorts. Texted wife back, take stuff off ebay she said to late and made me buy it all back at a profit for her, cant blame her -:D
So another tough day at least I had a keeper and some shorts and it was hot with no drift and no breeze. Capt. G ran everywhere and anywhere and just kept trying to do the best he could with crappy conditions.
I would say 50/50 between bait and bucktails as far as catching, nuclear chicken, white/pink shine 6" grubs also strips with spearing and killies did it today.

Thanks to mates John " who actually helped me" and big Joe Gorski aka My favorite Glumpky always fun with you guys.
I asked Gorski not to take a picture of my keeper, it was a little over 18 and not as nice or as big as some of them but Gorski goes you suck, you need to be shamed, the wife agreed hence over-ruled and you suck , I took it like a Gorski-

Till next weeks sucking and selling of all my stuff
