Canyon Runner

Been a while since I posted here so going to put up a long one and some pictures. Been an interesting June/July so far - lots an lots of big-eyes - record number for Canyon Runner so far - but not much of anything else. Until NOW!
FINALLY - the boys didn't have to run all the way down to the Wilmington three trips in a row now. Capt. Phil's was 5/8 on big-eyes Monday to Tuesday (details below) and he was up the line a little bite from the Wilmington (where we spent most of June) this past trip and it was nice not running as far. We thought that might have just been luck but the 48 Viking just docked right now from the notches slightly closer to home with a mess of longfin and stories of big-eyes loved then lost.
They boated 10 and lost a bunch more. While it's nice that the price of fuel is much lower than it's been in years - it's just as nice to not have to run 100 miles the last couple trips and still put together a nice catch.
Capt. Phil's 5 Big-Eyes close to home deserve a little more detail. They were in fact the 26th big-eye we boated so far this year.
On Monday to Tuesday Capt. Phil Dulanie, with Kevin Muller and Craig Angelini put together a solid trip with the John Lindal charter fishing Monday for only 8 hours on the troll they nailed 5 big-eyes out of 8 hooked in total, 5 longfin a bunch of mahi. 2 on Canyon Runner Green Machines bars and 3 on Joe Shutes with Ballyhoo. All bites came right around the dredges.
This trip followed up a couple more big-eyes taken by Capts. Craig Angelini, Kevin Muller and Evan Millas the end of last week and a handful of yellowfin in the Lindy.
Below is a bunch of the pictures for the last few trips. I'll post the rest of the June pictures shortly below them.
