Joined Henry (Jakesdad) & Ronnie on Henry's Honeybee this morning for a quick trip. The bite in the Shark River is not as good as it recently was, so we steamed North in the Ocean knowing we only had a coupla' hours to fish.
Conditions were perfect, light West wind, .6 MPH drift speed.... and the Fluke responded well :) It was great to use light bucktails in the Ocean without that stiff South wind in your face ! We got seven keepers and left them biting because we had to be back at the dock by Noon. I got my best of the season, so far, but did not have a chance to weigh it.

Gerry, down the beach it doesn't matter as much as up at the hook. We had an incoming all morning. Larry just doesn't give up, he just keeps on poppin.
Nicest morning we have had on the water this year, overcast with a breeze and a perfect drift speed. Caught on both bucktails and bait rigs, water in Shark River this morning 72.2, started to drop once the incoming to 65.4 and slowly rose to 68.2 by the time we had to come in.
Virtually no one else on the water, very odd. We saw Kris and 1 other boat in the area. On way back to Shark River at 11:30 only saw 4 other boats, Where is everyone?
Nice job Larry. You can never tell weight from picture but i am pretty good at guesstimating. Without knowing length I call it a nice 6 lb fish. If you ask Joey Da Fish it would have been a flukasuarus for sure :D

They have all said they are waiting
For the bite to start happening. Water to cold, may rain, the street lights are on, should have gone yesterday. You know that old chestnut. You can't catches sitting on the couch boys and girls. You gotta put your time in.
