to say sunday was slow for us would be a major understatement! but thankfully john whacked this 6lbs 1oz beauty early in the day. unfortunately that would be the only keeper for the two of us all day and we only caught 9 more fluke (shorts, only 2 even close to 18") and a few trash fish. we tried everywhere from horseshoe to ammo to out around the hook. probably a dozen different multiple spot drifts with 9 of the spots completely dead with no shorts or trash fish even! we plan on sweet sweet revenge this coming weekend!

We were out by the hook in those areas you mentioned on friday and only got a couple small fluke, no keepers. But on Sunday we stayed in the back of raritan bay and did a lot better. We didn't hammer them (due to wind against tide conditions), but got three keepers between me and my gf (who has no idea how to fish) and a few shorts. Bucktail/gulp worked much better than dragging bait.
