July 4 fluking

[Grateful Dad]

Got an early start (for me) and was cruising past the tip of the hook by 8am. Fished out between the channels and had a slow pick. I did manage to box one, then got into some skates and doggies. Picked away for the rest of the morning, tried inside around Officer's Row where I got another nice 21"er.
Saw the clouds building a little, so decided to run in early, it rained on us a little as we got back to the dock.
All fish were taken on spearing/squid strips, bucktails didn't produce.

I'm glad the Flukin' on Grateful Dad was productive for 'ya on Independence day because the Fare Thee Well concert by the Grateful Dead was lame :( Been to 100s over shows over the years and it was easily the worst 2nd set I ever encountered. They just went thru the motions, mailing it in. 80 minute break between sets - I guess they couldn't acquire any Geritol :eek:
