Sunday fluking on the Grateful Dad

Set out with high hopes with a top-notch crew. Hart Attack Larry, Angina Brian, nephew Pete and I left Keyport on a mirror-calm bay. Started on the flats near the low numbers of the Reach, nada. Went over to the Ammo Pier/bug light area, loaded up on shorts. Enough of that, headed back out to some deeper water to find some keepers, Brian did box a nice fat one for dinner. More shorts, some birds, skates and a doggie. Finished up once again off the Ammo Pier, where Pete dropped his rod in the drink while unhooking a fish.(If anybody catches a nice Abu Ambassadeur on a St.Croix rod, PM me)
We had enough frustration, so headed back to the barn. A couple of guys at the dock had some fish, but seemed like a slow day for everybody.
Oh well, it beats working.

Also went on scouting trip to refurbished Up the Creek Bar/Grill By Keyport Marine Basin. Niiice. Still have alot of the same characters from the old place (right out of the Star Wars bar scene), but definitely a worthy stop - - burp !

Wrong boat, wrong river. It only works in hat and Larry can only produce to the south. Jeff missed the honey holes.

Dan, after the "lookin' for some love..." comment, I refused to let him board if he was wearing a pimp hat. He did show up with a rather snappy Jigging World hat.
PS- you know the fishing was bad if we are commenting on fashionable headgear and not on baits, etc.:o
