Was thinking about heading up Saturday night to throw some top water at some eyes/striper. However, I haven't seen much here and I've heard it's been pretty slow at night up there so far. Can anyone confirm/deny?

There are a ton of reports from the past month up on here. Guys are not likely to come right out and say where due to lurkers and google searches, but you can figure out pretty easily where the reports came from.

the spawn is wierd this year, they started later than usual due to late ice and its never hit a peak, some nights its on fire others its quiet, but the fish are there. You can hit ANY lake that has a herring population and catch fish at night, EVERY game fish gets in on the nite bite, the apex predators do better in the major lakes. Lakes that are electric only start early, for instance swartswood nite bite starts right after dark and ends by midnite or so, whereas LH doesnt get started til after midnite. The fish are everywhere, you can literall pull up to any point or shoreline that has a dropoff nearby and u will hear them splash and the occasional brick being dropped in the water. Weekdays it starts earlier on gas lakes with the weekend being the latest, sometimes not hot til 2am or later. If you dont know a lake well just cruise slow or with electric and listen for the little splashes of herring mating, they splash on top to attract the other sex, you cant miss the sound. If theres action you can literally sit in that area all night and fish come in and out feeding, you will catch something guaranteed. topwaters and shallow stickbaits are the tickets, at LH you can fish right in Lees cove on both points and catch tons of fish
