View Full Version : Sponsored boat wakes Highlands

A sponsored NJFishing charter boat out of Highlands, who will remain unnamed unless he does this again, ran through the river hooked up through the no wake zone waking everything in his path. This is totally unprofessional and dangerous. This new comer better start observing safe boating practices or he will be outed publicly for his stupidity. He already was called out by a party boat captain in these forums for unprofessional behavior...

My friends were on that boat today. Not only were they unsafe in the river, they took my friends for an expensive boat ride as well.

Anyone with $400 can be a Sponsor. Anyone with a Boat can run Charters!! Unfortunately, the CG seems to be looking the Other way in regards to boats for hire...Money talks and Bullshit walks. Do your research before you pay to play is all I can say.

You're responsible for your wake. This bozo had no clue that he almost swamped 3 people, even with people yelling at him as he went past two "No Wake" buoys. First class handjob imo.

Then out him here so people know who he is. If it is not the first time it won't be the last and people need to know to avoid the boat.

I never understood this forum and the huge outcry that happens everytime we publicly shame a moron like this. Why aren't we allowed to state the name of the captain? Because he gave the forums 400 dollars?

If you screw up multiple times you deserve to be publicly shamed. Sponsor or not. I understand the premise that you want that 400 and that he is a sponsor. But if you continue to hide the bad behavior you are only punishing us, the consumer, and the good captains who follow proper fishing etiquette.

So... can we please reconsider this entire "sponsors are untouchable" BS going on?

Guys no need to know the boat. It's easy just don't become a customer of any boat that's a sponsor to this forum in the raritan Bay Area. Soon enough the name will brought forward by the other sponsors hurt by this one boat and lack of the ability to let it known who it is. We know it's not a head boat they are further up. So it's a private charter.

Avoid any private charter. It's easy. Any private charter want to name it yet.

When you have sites that don't allow you to name a problem sponsor because of the dollar you have to find a way around it. The good sponsors won't be hurt or let themselves be hurt because of the other guy.

I've seen it on other sites where someone has a problem with a sponsor but because they can't be named that same sponsor hurts additional INNOCENT customers. When it could have been stopped very quick and easy. But the dollar is greater than the truth.

True, must respect that. Also as he stated it was not him but someone running his boat. Sure it won't happen again.

Gotta give the man credit for coming forward and owning up to the mistake. Keep it clean out there fellas! Be safe and enjoy yourselves as much as possible! Life is too short for nonsense!

While it is commendable he admitted it was his boat, let's be honest here. It sounds like this has been going on for quite a bit of time now. This was no isolated incident.

It really took this long to have a talk with the guy driving the boat? Only after it escalated to this on the most popular fishing forum in NJ, almost to the point where someone was going to name the boat anyway?

You deserve all the bashing you got on this thread, and then some. I am one of those small boaters out there who have to frequently deal with aholes running through fast with no regard for others.

Annnnnnd not even an apology to be found from this guy. Guess the next time my intern screws up your diagnosis and medication therapy management, I'll just say, he made a mistake, I had a talk with him. Done.

It takes a man to make a mistake it takes a bigger man to admit it. The owner of the operation is willing to address this problem with anybody who wants to address it with him. Why don't you guys leave it at that already go out fishing enjoy life. I think it's getting too boring with all the drama like this. This board is supposed to be about fishing we should try to keep it that way.

Saltfisherman and Teddys claw... First of all if you don't like the way I choose to run this site then feel free not to visit here anymore.

Further, you will notice that several people knew the name of the boat, including another sponsor and thought it better not to name it on a public forum, even though unlike the 2 of you, some of them were directly involved. This is called descretion and people with good judgment and character use it often.

The reason I don't like bashing on this site (sponsor or not) is because it can hurt people's business. On public forums such as ours, the accusers are anonymous which is not fair since the businesses are not and they should have the ability to face their accusers. And lastly, it turns into an emotionally charged lightening rod and everyone gets all worked up. While this sort of stuff can attract a lot more site visits, it's not the sort of traffic we want here.

My general rule is if you want to accuse and name the business here, then at least have the conviction to list your name and phone here as well. After all, if you are not willing to do that then chances are your keyboard muscles have won over descretion and good judgment.

The guy mans up says it is his boat and will not happen again! Take him at his word. If it happens again I am sure we will hear about it. I think that was the best way to handle situation. 👍👍

Give it a break, the dude stepped up and I'm sure it won't happen again....the dude knows about it now and if it does happen again than bash him all you want.

But to bring up old sh#t and threaten to boycott every 6 man boat is insane.
Then you go and bitch about the site rules ...maybe you need to get out fishing more.....so do I. To me, it just seems messed up to try and ruin the guys rep & business especially when him stepped up ad claimed responsibility.

Shoot, I've waked going thru a 5 mph zone...and if Lab was around he'd have a pic of it up in no time .......a few times. Just saying we all eff up sometimes....

I fished next to him a bit today. Whom ever was driving was very courteous are respectful of other boats. Way to man up and fix a problem. Cudo's for the Capt and crew. There were quite a few lonney tunes out cutting through the fleet today. I won't mention there boat names even though they are not sponsors. I did have a good laugh and slight words with one. The other was anchored up on the rip I just drifted by and shook my head
