Please take the time to write Congress to support some flexibily in the Magnuson Stevens

Tell Congress: Support Recreational Fishing! and tell him/her to vote YES on H.R. 1335. It’ll only take two minutes, but will go to impact generations of outdoor activity and commerce.

Been trying to do this for the past couple of years Gerry, not many got on the bus from NJ and it was embarrassing to say the least...Yes, maybe it's easier to go online and and tell someone to Vote Yes when in fact NONE of them really give a shit what we think anyway. Sad, but very true...even Pallones mentor Laughtenberg didn't have his back when it came to this, so what does that tell us....Just fish and forget all this BS...Nobody cares anymore.

Funny I got an email from a conservation group who kind of made it sound like they had fisherman in their best interest who want me to oppose this bill. I say this because we have to [B]carefully read the things we sign up for and rally for, it may be a "wolf in sheep's clothing"! Thanks for the heads up Gerry, You got it!

I had already submitted my response . Capt Ron has a valid point, that last bus from Highlands definitely was not standing room only !
Hopefully the hundreds of no shows will be able to use their fingers where they couldn't find time to use their bodies in a show of solidarity .
My guess don't hold ur breath !!

done.but I'm on the side with ron.the way I see it if they cared even a little wouldn't we see it or hear about it.we all watch and listen to the news, read papers and surf the tube.how many times do we see anything about what marine fisheries are doing for the rec fisher peeps.i mean on the front page not in some fishing article or a small paragraph in a magazine.when do we hear our local reps pushing for change other than election time.i know there are bigger fish to fry but with all the bus rides, letters, phone calls and emails we have made over the last few years they have to know how important this is to us.

Done. But don't stop here. Wait a few weeks and call your congressman and ask for an update on thus bill. Ask for his opinion and why he supports it or why not. Stay in contact with your representative concerning this bill.

Myself, Tony of Palmers Bucktails and few others exposed several of these underhanded scammers in 2013 I think it was?

There was a chick on here and the SJ site blasting posts, some others, with signup links etc. for a bill that later was found out to be Very Bad for fisherman. Forget the details.

POINT: We got to be super careful, lot of wolves in sheep's clothing.
Had a bunch of fishermen fooled and bragging they signup, then later found out the truth....
PLEASE, BE CAREFUL WHAT YOU ARE SUPPORTING

Glad I took the time to read this thread. I'm an old curmudgeon who writes to Frelinghuysen ( my rep) all the time.
I've got dozens of his & Menendez' form letters on various topics.
The link is easy. Will try again on this matter.
I'll also forward it to a bunch of guys. Thanks.

I did 5 minutes after Gerry made the post. I'm sure there are many of us that did and didn't post any thing here. By the way H.R. 1335 passed the House today. Now we need to get it through the Senate and I'm sure that will be much harder. Get ready for another round of emails to your senator.
